Gulf Air Reunion 2010.

Celebrating 60 years on.

A huge success even though the numbers were slightly down on last year.

Each year there are new reunionists wishing to keep in contact with previous work collegues, reminice and meet up with existing and old friends. A real opportunity for those who were fortunate to reside and work from that desert island in the Arabian Gulf and the stations and offices within the GF network.

The nucleus of the reunion enjoys the patronage of ground, engineering, flying staff and their families, a crucial element in making the reunion the success which it has become. We enjoy the company of those who grace us from the Atipodes to the UK, it is a very unique experience.

None of the above would be possible but for the effort of the reunion team, mainly Ding Sadler and Brian Sutterby.

Brian after eight years of organising and publishing this reunion website has decided it is time for someone else to reach for the bottle in trying to find one's way forward in collaborating this site. Brian undoubtedly left his mark and I thank him for leaving the legacy he has done.

I am very pleased to have taken over and take this opportunity to thank Ding for the sterling work she has done in making the reunion the established success it is.

I am told Sue Curruthers nee Jones, the lady with the beautiful smile on the reception who directed one to the bar with their name tag, has decided to call an end to the meeting and greeting , hopefully we will see her gracing future reunions, cheers Jonesey.

Most importantly, I would like to thank all of you who patronize the reunion and the spirit of it, without your attendance, emails and photographs the ethos would not exist in the way it does.

Graduation, team photographs, with names and dates, change of home and/or email address', send them to my email address, johneredding@aol.com headed GF Reunion, this will enable me to stir the nostalgia, present a bigger picture and keep everyone up to date.

The all important date for next year. 14th May 2011. Same venue, same time, same price £30.00. See you there if not before.

Best wishes.

John Redding.
